Tibi Galis, executive director of the Auschwitz Institute for Peace and Reconciliation, spoke at the United Nations April 27 in a seminar titled " Preventing and Responding to Genocide and Mass Atrocities ." Galis appeared alongside Canadian Senator and retired Lt. Gen. [Romeo Dallaire](http://www.romeodallaire.com/biography.html) and Concordia University[Professor Frank Chalk](http://migs.concordia.ca/personnel/FoundingCo-Directors.htm) of the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights in a discussion on "how [UN] Member States can help build an international network of state representatives who will be empowered to deter the potential for genocide." In his remarks, Galis highlighted the Auschwitz Institute's groundbreaking work in this area, educating rising leaders at the Raphael Lemkin Seminars for Genocide Prevention and following up by connecting them through the 2PREVENT online network. Rosenberg directs the Human Rights and Genocide Clinic and the Program in Holocaust and Human Rights Studies at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
