Katherine Anderson

Katherine is a higher education and community-based fundraising professional and leader with over thirty-five years of experience and a track record of success in securing significant philanthopic support for important causes and worthy missions. She is the Associate Vice President for Major Gifts at Cornell University and currently is also interim Associate Vice President for Colleges and Units. Over the last ten years, Katherine has served in a variety of leadership roles at Cornell. She began her tenure at the university as the Director of Development for International Affairs and was interim Associate Dean for Alumni Affairs and Development at the College of Arts & Sciences during an extended dean transition. Prior to joining Cornell, Katherine was the development lead for a number of national and regional not-for-profit organizations. During her career she has advanced the fundraising efforts of Oxfam America and Physicians for Human Rights, both based in Boston, Planned Parenthood, affordable housing and children's mental health organizations among others and served as a consultant for capital and fundraising campaigns for regional not-for-profit agencies and higher education institutions.

A graduate of Kenyon College, she earned her Masters in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School. Her service on boards includes Educate the Children, which works primarily in Nepal, the Boston Women's Fund, Ithaca City of Asylum, and The Ink Shop Printmaking Center. She was twice a grant panelist for the National Endowment for the Humanities Council for Basic Education Fellowships for Independent Studies and is currently a Town of Danby Fire Commissioner.
